Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR

A 1979 graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and a duel concentration in Human Resource Management and Real Estate. Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR, is the President of Joseph W. Brady, Inc., dba The Bradco Companies located in Victorville, California. Incorporated on December 4, 1989 The Bradco Companies specializes in the acquisition and disposition of raw land and approved residential, commercial and industrial land projects for developers and investors throughout the country. The company also specializes in the leasing and sales of commercial, industrial and office properties, continually maintaining a large inventory of available land and industrial/commercial space for lease or sale. In 2005 The Bradco Companies was named the 13th largest commercial brokerage company in the Inland Empire by “The Business Press,” and the largest firm of its size in the High Desert (Inland Empire North/The “E” Corridor). The firm was the No. 1 ranked commercial brokerage firm in the High Desert Region from 2001 to 2006. In 2005 with nearly 4,000 Victor Valley Multiple Listing Service members, Mr. Brady was ranked No. 1 in the Region.

Since 1989, as a Broker has been responsible for 3,459 transactions, totaling $706,719,975 in gross sales and over $25,000,000 in commission income.

From June of 1979 through April of 1983, Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR, was employed by two of the largest real estate syndication, development and management firms in Santa Barbara, California. The two firms collectively owned $300,000,000 of income producing assets including over 3,000 apartment units, (7)-self storage facilities with over 5,000 total units, and a variety of commercial retail and office properties.

Before forming The Bradco Companies and moving to Victorville in 1988, Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR, was Vice President of Pegasus Development in Santa Barbara, California, a central coast subdivision developer. From 1985 – 1987 He served as vice president of the Santa Barbara County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc.

He is the former Secretary/Treasurer and a two (2) time Vice-President of membership for the Baldy View Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc., a member of the Victor Valley Association of Realtors since 1989; and a member of the "Life Spike Club" for the National Association of Home Builders with over 85 sponsored members. From 1997 until 2003 he served on the Planning Committee for St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, and served as the 2001-2003 Chairman of “BOR-PAC”, the Political Action Committee for the Victor Valley Association of Realtors. He was the 1997-1998 Chairman and one of the original charter members of “The Lincoln Club of the Victor Valley”.

He is the former President of the Mojave Regional Economic Development Council, a non-profit, tax exempt organization, whose purpose was to bring jobs and industrial growth to the Victor Valley and was part of the group that became the “High Desert Regional Economic Development Authority” (REDA). From 1997 to early 2006, Mr. Brady was a Commissioner for the San Bernardino Economic Development Commission. In early 2001, Mr. Brady was reappointed to the Workforce Investment Board and the Economic Development Subcommittee for San Bernardino County.

Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR, is the publisher and co-editor of The Bradco High Desert Report, a quarterly economic overview of the High Desert market, written in association with Dr. Alfred Gobar, the renowned real estate economist. This publication, with 48 Editions now completed, was created in May of 1993, and sent out quarterly to over 3,000 investors, developers, lenders, business owners, governmental entities, property owners and national site locators who may be interested in the High Desert region. Starting December 1, 2009, the Bradco high Desert Report will be sent electronically to all Southern California CCIM, SIOR, NAIOP, members and nearly 7,000 Commercial Brokers in Southern California. Over 275,000 copies of The Bradco High Desert Report have been printed since May 1993.

Since 1995 Mr. Brady has been a contributing editor to “Land Investment News,” a 30-year-old quarterly publication with a distribution of 15,000 property owners worldwide who own property within the Antelope and Victor Valley’s. He has written nearly 40 articles for “Land Investment News” and is also a contributing writer to many publications and has currently written over one hundred twenty-five (125) published articles.

Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR, has been active in local and regional politics and was awarded the 34th Assembly District Volunteer of the Year for 1995.

On September 14, 1995, Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR, was awarded the first annual “Daily Press Freedom Communications “Spirit of Freedom”. The award recognized Brady’s efforts for “growth and laissez-faire capitalism.” Mr. Brady has also been formally recognized for his efforts with National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), High Desert Regional Economic Development Authority (HREDA), Victor Valley Association of Realtors (VVAOR) and Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIA/SC Baldy View).

On September 23, 1998, Mr. Brady was the first High Desert individual and company to be inducted into the Southern California based American Industrial Real Estate Broker Association (A.I.R.), a non-profit corporation founded in 1960, with over 2000 commercial/industrial real estate professionals with 350 firms serving nine (9) Southern California counties.

On April 26, 2000, Mr. Brady was recognized as one of the top ten (10) business people of the year in San Bernardino County by the San Bernardino County Sun newspaper.

On June 2, 2000, Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR and Deborah K. Brady became the owners of Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate, an eighteen (18) year old franchise in Barstow, California. Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate has been the No. 1 real estate office in Barstow from 2000 to the present, according to the Barstow Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service. Coldwell Banker® was the Number One (1) Residential Franchise Company in the country from 1999-2008. In February of 2011, Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate became Barstow Real Estate Group.

In August 2000 the High Desert Chapter of the American Red Cross recognized Mr. Brady as the “Volunteer of the Year”, and in 2001and 2003 was given the “Leadership” award. He has been the Chairman and Co-Chairman for the American Red Cross High Desert Chapter Economic Summit since its inception in 1998 where he and his team of volunteer committee members have raised over $340,000 over the last eleven (11) years for the High Desert Chapter of the American Red Cross.

On May 26, 2002 the San Bernardino County Sun Newspaper was appointed as the High Desert’s representative to the twelve (12) member board “Vision of the Valley,” who brainstorm monthly on ways to improve and better market San Bernardino County.

In 2003, Mr. Brady became a member of Barstow Associates, LLC and Barstow Highlands 1, LLC to develop a 79-home “move-up” housing project “The Highlands” in Barstow, California. The housing project was the first built in nearly (15) fifteen years. The homes ranged from 3-bedroom/2-bath 1,535 sq. ft. to 3,046 sq. ft. and seven rooms. In December 2005, twenty-five (25) homes were built and the balance of the project sold to Barstow Highland Group, LLC.

In 2004, Dr. Herbert R. Fischer, Former San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, also appointed Joseph W. Brady to serve on the executive board of the “Partnership in Excellence” for the Alliance for Education. The foundation is built on the support of small and large business, labor, grants and foundations. Mr. Brady maintains his position with Dr. Gary Thomas, County Superintendent of Schools.

In June 2004, Mr. Brady was awarded the California Golden Bear Award for Exceptional Service in Fundraising by the American Red Cross. In 2009, he was awarded the Red Cross Award for “The Partnership Award”.

From 2005 through 2008 Mr. Brady was a member of the Board of Directors for the Inland Empire Chapter of the National Association Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and acted as a liaison in the High Desert Region to the Inland Empire board, that he was a part of.

In December 2005, Mr. Brady was awarded the coveted “Paul Harris Award” for Distinguished Community Service by the Victorville Rotary Club.

From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Brady was the Chairman of the Spring Valley Lake Home Owner’s Association Budget & Finance Committee overseeing the implementation of the annual budget of $4,500,000 for Spring Valley Lake, a 4,220± home community with nearly 12,000 residents initially developed by Boise Cascade in 1969.

After two years of graduate study, Mr. Brady completed his CCIM designation (Certified Commercial Investment Member) on November 8, 2000, allowing him to become part of an exclusive association with over 9,000 world wide commercial real estate professionals, and the largest commercial real estate network in the world. He is one of the only two (2) active CCIM’s in the Victor Valley. He also earned his SIOR Designation (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) in November 2006, to become a part of exclusive association with 3,200 world wide members. He is the only SIOR in the High Desert region and one of only 800 that hold a CCIM/SIOR joint designation worldwide.

In 2007, he was inducted as a member of Lambda Alpha International, The Honorary Society for Advancement of Land Economics. Only individuals who have made notable contributions to the study and ethical practice of land use are invited to join Lambda Alpha International. Now with more then 2,000 members in twenty-two (22) chapters located worldwide in Great Britain, Japan, Canada and the United States, Lambda Alpha International is an apolitical not-for-profit professional organization. The criteria for membership specify that nominees have achieved professional distinction with a minimum of 10 years of work experience, made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of land economics and distinguished themselves in the community through public service. He is the only real estate broker in the Inland Empire that has been inducted into Lambda Alpha.

On December 27, 2007 Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR became a Senior Vice President / Director for the High Desert for Colliers-Seeley (Colliers International) in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The Company became known as Colliers International Bradco. On September 30, 2008 Colliers International Bradco closed due to the High Desert economy and on October 15, 2008 Mr. Brady reactivated The Bradco Companies.

In May of 2009, Supervisor Gary Ovitt nominated Joseph W. Brady as a member of the San Bernardino County Tax Appeals Board.

On February 2nd, 2011, Joe was appointed as the 5th Trustee to the Victor Valley Community College District, a school with nearly 13,000 students, 800 faculty and staff and an opening budget in excess of $50 Million annually.

He is married to Deborah K. Brady who is also the Executive Vice President of Barstow Real Estate Group and Alliance Management Group in Barstow. They have resided in Spring Valley Lake for nearly 23 years. He enjoys traveling, wine tasting, a challenging Top 100 golf course, and cutting his next deal!
